In my weekly continuity clinic, I had a 13 year old boy who came in for a well-child check. His mother asked me to test is urine for drugs because he had been "hanging around with the wrong crowd." When I asked him some screening questions about tobacco and drug use, he was very open and honest with me, stating that he recently started smoking marijuana this summer and now was doing it at least once a day, if not more.
Then his mother piped in, "See! I knew it! He's been such a moron lately!" And to make matters worse, she continued with this heartfelt, honest statement, "The thing is, I don't know where he is getting his weed. I mean it's not from me! I keep mine with me at all times and sleep with it under my pillow."
Special.
